Many investors think that large- and small-cap investments will lead to a more successful portfolio, but this approach overlooks the middle of the market investments, which have outperformed large and small cap investments over the past 30 years, causing many to miss out on earnings.
Using golf as an extended metaphor, we brought awareness to State Street Global Advisors’ ETF Trust with a tie in to their “Mid-Cap Cup” campaign with an interactive quiz. Leveraging on interactive aspect, we developed retro videogame visuals with your choices on each question deciding whether you landed on the green or in the bunker.
Questions played along to the analogy that like golf, where the middle clubs(irons and wedges) are important, midcap investments can make all the difference in our financial portfolios as well.
My role was to design the user flow, interface, and experience of the site as readers make their way through the course from start to finish. The interface was inspired by the visual style of golf scorecards, with neutral earth tones applied to a minimalistic layout to allow the pixelated graphics to stand out.
